Practice doesn’t make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect. If you want to be the best football team, you need to have the best practices. That’s why I’m stressing practice HARD:

  • H - hustle: When you enter the field, you’re limited on time. To be as efficient as you can be, you run between drills, you run in drills, you even run to you waterbottle. Save time, be efficient.
  • A - Affection: Show that you care. Show that you want to be the best. Be positive. Be focused. Be determined. Show it through affection. You will see the rest of team gets affectionate as well.
  • R - Respect: Respect your teammates, your coaches, the referees, even your opponents. When someone is willing to play this great game with you, you should respect them.
  • D - Discipline: Do as the coaches say. Don’t come late for practice, meeting, game. Claim responsibility and follow the rules. This ‘aint no kindergarden.

Make sure you follow these rules when you practice. It will allow you do get maximum number of reps (hustle), do the reps the correct way while avoiding injuries (discipline), you’ll learn great team skills (affection) and get friends for life (respect). Then you will be part of a REAL football teams where the whole is much stronger than the sum of the individuals. You’ll look mean, play hard, execute properly and stick together as a team. This is what it takes to win football games.
